The UFA route for a 1RW
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>That may be so, but the Ducks have 14 players signed for next year, the Leafs only have 10, and notable signing needs include #1RHD and #1G</div></div>
Woll and liljegren. Leafs also have Cowan, minten, mcmann, Steeves and Holmberg all under 900k not included. Robertson and liljegren are their only notable rfa's. Fitting Nylander shouldn't be an issue.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBA</b></div><div>I could 100% see Anaheim throw the bag ar Nylander this summer. I think Nylander has mathematically played himself out of Toronto and good for him, go get that bag. Anaheim has the cap space and and a roster full of young guys on ELC's. Eventually they will come across the problem of resigning all their young stars to reasonable deals, but man would I love to see Nylander in Anaheim and I think Nylander would love it in sunny California.</div></div>
Leafs have more cap space than the Ducks next year. Nylander doesn't want to go anywhere.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>Yeah, Reinharts up this year too, it's a good UFA class and Anaheim's got deep pockets to chase someone. We'll see how the year progresses. I'm not convinced Nylander sticks around in Toronto though, it'll hamstring the roster again to try and resign him.</div></div>
Leafs have tons of cap space too. Nylander isn't going anywhere unless Treliving decides to get rid of him. Which would be brain dead.
But yeah, depending on who re signs, the ufa crop is elite.

Wouldn't hold out hope on that one. Should be plenty of talent in ufa this season though. Also it would have to be a sign and trade to lower his cap hit.

Help the leafs? I don't see much help here. Other than Lilly being injured and getting a replacement for him immediately.

Good starting goalie? I thought this was for markstrom.

But once you factor in extending Nylander for 9m a season going forward and us having exactly 0 defenseman who can play any extended time in a defensive zone against a 2nd line let alone top line, you see the issue. No cap space, no defense, and no way to fix the mess because of no flexibility. Adding a 1st or a 2nd and really even neighbors is pure lunacy. Trade Parayko and we are a bottom 5 team and there’s no fix to that any time soon.</div></div>

Sure, I'd agree with that. More moves would certainly have to follow. Brodie would be available after this deal (the same reason it makes no sense).
My comment was about the one for one. Blues shouldn't be moving Kyrou, Thomas or Neighbours for anything that isn't a massive overpay.

Nonsense, Parayko hasn't been good for years (by his standards, still a top 4 Dman). Nylander for Parayko 1 for 1 would be a massive win for the blues.

I don't think I'd do it straight up if I were the blues even if they both had 1yr remaining.. have you seen their top 6? No need to upgrade and severely downgrade Defense</div></div>
Blues would jump on that to get out of his contract. This deal is a bit overboard though.

Yes Murray is. Not sure for how long but it was reported he will start the season on ltir.

Take out Robertson and Lilly and a 1st, 3rd and voit from the leafs for konecny alone.
Think that would suit both sides better.

Not at all. But I would like to see marner moved if he demands too much again,
Willy will come in around 9m and Matthews around 12m.
