Description

Just a part one, nothing too crazy yet. Added the Desharnis signing. McQuaid can be replaced by any RHD that can compete for a role on the bottom 2 pairs. Vanek can be replaced by Nygard if not signed, though I suspect he will PTO due to his connection to Holland.

Lucic deal requires the Flames to trade out Ryan in a separate deal, but I think a 5th is a fair sweetner in the deal.

Kreider deal to me is more likely than the Lucic deal. Kreider to me is valued at a late first or early second round pick. Puljujarvi is a 2nd rounder to me, and adding Kassian will give the Rangers grit to play with their young kids and allow them to sign their RFAs without breaking the bank.

Still gotta do more moves to get Jones in the NHL, but this is a start.

Interesting NYR trade. One thing I think will be a hiccup while trading Puljujarvi is that right now I wouldn't say he's viewed as a 2nd rd talent. He'll probably get to that point, but to the rest of the league it's Yakupov 2.0 and there isn't a lot of value in that.

I can't see Puljujarvi as having less value than Alex Nylander, which was able to fetch a pretty good price in Jokiharju on the open market, and that's from teams that aren't in a cap crunch like NYR. In that light, if for parity sake we say Jokiharju = Nylander = Puljujarvi, saying a trade involving Jokiharju and a decent 3rd line physical player for Kreider isn't the most far fetched thing for a team that needs to unload cap in order to sign Trouba (6+ mil), Buchnevich (3 Mil), and Lemieux (2 mil? maybe 1.5?). In a world without cap maybe the trade doesn't go through, but with their current situation I think it's pretty good.
