Nobody ever asks for exactly what they'll accept. Always a little higher. Negotiation can and more times than not bring down the cap hit they originally were asking for. Its not like Gusev has a ton of options. If he did than he could stand pat at 4M until someone finally signs him. He doesn't. Its Vegas or KHL.

I get what you mean but its not like OP offered 1.5M for 4 years. Its pretty close and very much a possibility man. I think your overreacting for nothing.
