Who is taking Vladdy without a big salary hold back plus possible draft picks? The answer is no one.

yeah that's what I wanted to ask you about. The difference in salary between Strome and Namestnikov is less than an ELC...but suddenly now teams are going to balk at acquiring him but gladly give a 3rd for Strome?

Basically if you're going to make a crazy salary argument about Namestnikov, you have to make it about Strome. It would be ridiculous to make it about either of them, but to make it about one and not the other is a new kind of ridiculous I'd rather not learn about....

Strome had a better year last year than Vlad, he is cheaper by $900k next season, and he will still be an RFA after next season. IMO, he would be a lot easier to trade right now without any salary holdback. $900k doesn't sound like much, but in a league where many teams are crunched by the cap, it can make a big difference. If they can move Vlad without keeping salary, I'd be all for it, and keep Strome instead, but I don't see that happening.
