Description
1. Jarry has been a really good backup thus far. Murray has slowed down as of late, but I hope this doesn't start any "trade Murray" posts. He will pick it up. It is also nice having DeSmith as an insurance #3 guy. We have a really great tandem.
2. The Guentzel-Malkin-Rust has truly been great and I would love to keep them together even when healthy. I know Guentzel has been with Sid, but maybe they try Chucky on his left side with Hornqvist on the right. If Chucky cant pop off on his wing, then I guess he just is not a fit here and they probably let him walk/trade him.
3. McCann is capable of centering a line. When were healthy, we have more than enough top 9 guys. Personally, I think Bjugstad is the odd man out. He has not been great this season and an actual top 6 role would be ideal for him.
4. Marino has been a very pleasant surprise since being acquired. I did not think much of the trade and thought that maybe he'd be a good AHLer that we call up in case. I think he can handle top 4 minutes, which makes Schultz expandable past this year. I do not mind keeping him for the playoff run, but if a solid trade comes in, we should move him. I cannot see us resigning him.
5. Johnson has actually been good this year. The man who has been the scapegoat for quite some time is actually playing well and I do not think anyone could disagree.

1. Absolutely agree. I would like to see Jarry get around 30 games this year and really see what he can do. I think in the offseason the pens may need to look at a Jarry or Murray trade depending on what each of their asking price will be but I hope they can keep both.
2. I definitely think Galch with Sid is worth looking at. If he can't find the back of the net I think that the pens will look to trade him by the deadline.
3. 100% agree with that. McCann is our 3C. It's unfortunate that Bjugstad hasn't exactly worked for us but I think he is worth keeping around for a playoff push if a good deal doesn't come across.
4. I think Schultz is absolutely gone after this season with Marino looking the way he has. Definitely worth keeping around for the playoffs although I wouldn't be surprised with a trade if the pens get someone on a cheaper and longer deal.
5. I don't think JJ has been terrible this year. However, I think if you can trade him you have to. There are players that can do what he does for significantly cheaper.
