Except he is...not even assistant, he is Associate Coach. They’re doing it cause the org feels very strong about our system and a DeBoer didn’t give much of a chance. having Sommer (their coach) Ricci (director of player development) and Nabby (director or goaltending development) 100% confirms that.

Not letting Boughner walk with Pete and crew confirms something I suspected when he returned that Doug believes in him and does not want to to go coach somewhere else after the season is over. Boogie has a proven track record of coaching and developing young players and they respect him cause he was an NHLer for a long time unlike DeBoer and Spott.
