I don’t understand how the NYR trade helps the Canes - To me, it seems like it actually hurts the Canes.

I do think Staal is overpaid if you look just at numbers, but I think he fits the Canes style perfectly and is an extremely valuable piece on the PK. It would be nice to add Kreider but not at the price you’ve listed.
