Iafallo and Drury
You have supreme confidence in Jack Drury. He’s a good player, but you might reconsider trading a 2nd rounder and paying $3.25 x 4 to a 3/4 C.

Petry lost the Red Wings the season
Thanks for the play by play chief.
I do think you might consider the fact that one player isn’t the entire cause for the Wings being 7 games under 500 since beginning of Feb.

The third goal he didn't do **** for was Skjei shooting the puck wide, blowing by Petry, and then collecting his own rebound and putting it in.
Keep going about how he's low on the list of problems lol.</div></div>

Dunno I was too busy celebrating the four goals, the rest of the time I was watching Larkin complain and Perron slash people away from the puck.

Nope. This is an unpopular opinion amongst Canes fans, but Pesce can walk. It won’t be comfortable but they have plenty options without paying for it.

Getting CAR Big Money Deals to help them sign their UFAs
Canes pass pretty easy. Just keep Orlov, trade KK elsewhere if that is even needed. Canes will need to get creative with the Cap and their re-signings but I don’t think they are really in that bad of shape.

Canes reject. Not that I’m a huge KK fan. I do think he could be traded, but Orlov is a better player than Mario and moving one for the other doesn’t solve anything. I don’t think the Canes plan to re-sign Pesce.
I think the Canes could move KK if they wanted without paying to do so.
Btw - Kunin isn’t good.

Just my opinion…Petry might be part of the problem, but he’s about 5th or 6th on the list.
Lyon is your best goalie
Half of your defense can’t skate well enough to defend
Your best goal scorer has had a down year scoring goals
Larkin spends too much time complaining to refs
You don’t have a 2C, your 3Cs are better wingers than centers
Petry

Off-season GM scenario - Necas
Listen, Necas is an extremely talented player and I would like the Canes to re-sign him. However, if real GMs in the NHL value him as highly as ACGMs on CF do, he will be moved without hesitation by the Canes.

Team takes a pretty big step back with that youth in the regular lineup. Think Morrow needs an AHL year, and Nadeau needs another year in NCAA. Would rather spend cap here to bring back Skjei instead of HJ and VA.

Shocking, right? Interesting fact, Canes local broadcaster have said in their internal conversations with players and goalies - they say KK has the most deceiving strong and accurate shot on the team.

He needs to be benched after every game he doesn’t take at least 5 shots. He’s allergic to shooting the puck, and for a guy with a great shot and a team who values shots, gotta fix that.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>I’m still optimistic, though. He probably won’t be a 60-70 point guy, although he still has that level of potential.</div></div>

CAR whats his cost
The only thing I disagree with here is that the 4.82m cap is team friendly and worth being patient for. The other points are valid. I do have some concerns with his personality being that of a consistent point producer or goal scorer.
There is a real possibility that cap hit prevents the Canes from spending in other areas while they wait. You can actually make the argument that the next offseason is the peak of the pain of that contract.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Because he's been around for 6 full seasons, subconsciously one thinks of Kotkaniemi as mid-career, but he turns only 24 in the summer. Tage Thompson's breakout year with the Sabres occurred when he turned 24; Adrian Kempe, 25. I think that Carolina will take the long (patient) view with him. Even if he never makes it into the top 6, his team-friendly contract makes him completely worth his cap hit.</div></div>

CAR whats his cost
KK is not a 50-70 point guy…I was with you until that statement. He’s a polarizing player and it’s okay for all of us to have different views on him. However, he does not have the on ice personality to be a consistent point producer. We would be happy if he was a 40-50 point middle six player.
I hope he works out, but right now it’s hard to see.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>Like another poster has mentioned with TNT and Kempe, Canes will just wait and be patient with KK. Worst case scenario he ends up being the Staal replacement, whereas best case the Canes have their long term 2C. Both are good options for the Canes. If KK can find offensive consistency throughout the middle 40 games of the season, he will be just fine and will be able to put up 50-70 point seasons.
The only way that KK is available is if they are packaging him for a massive C upgrade, much like how he was rumored to be in the package for Petterson.</div></div>

Hypothetically speaking - if Skjei was going to except $6x3 why in the world would it be with the Coyotes? Canes sign that deal ASAP, and Skjei would find at least 25 other teams who could sign a $6m top 4 dman.

Impossible to judge any of this. In a vacuum - if you are saying Hronek and Necas sign identical RFA deals…Canes keep
Necas. Canes have shown an ability to find defenders, and have better defenders in their pipeline coming.
Nikishin and Morrow should both be in the mix by then. No Necas replacement in the pipeline.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Prime_Jimbo</b></div><div>Probably similar to any long term deal with Necas. Outside Burns, everyone else headed to UFA. Not saying they won't want to stay but that was the thought. Morrow maybe bottom pair. Necas might be expendable to fill a need if they want to keep Guentzel.</div></div>
