Canes reject. Not that I’m a huge KK fan. I do think he could be traded, but Orlov is a better player than Mario and moving one for the other doesn’t solve anything. I don’t think the Canes plan to re-sign Pesce.

I think the Canes could move KK if they wanted without paying to do so.

Btw - Kunin isn’t good.

Canes trade makes sense. But maybe a 1st is too much to ask.

I'd rather have Sturm than Pageau but the picks are tempting.

Nice job overall. Need to sign some top 4 D UFA's.

Nope. This is an unpopular opinion amongst Canes fans, but Pesce can walk. It won’t be comfortable but they have plenty options without paying for it.

As much as I love Mario, Orlov is probably the better player, so I think the trade is super lopsided

Orlov may be slightly better, but Mario is half the price and under contract for an additional year.

That said, I like Mario and hope he stays with the Sharks. I only try and trade him on here occassionally because he's one of the few Sharks with decent trade value.

Hmm, i considered him walking, and still thought you might need space to sign Necas Jarvis Drury and Guentzel. I also agree that Orlov is better but part of that value was how bad the kk contract is looking right now. I dont think the canes would do this trade however because of the first. They have shown they can compete meaningfully with him. So if they can fit the contracts just by letting pesce walk than the trade idea doesnt make much sense.

I'd be ok with a base of KK and Ferraro, but I'd rather hang onto Orlov and maybe just add a prospect or something instead.
