Any trade where Chara leaves for someone young is dumb. 2 Years from now you have Krug, Lindholm, K. Miller, McQuaid, Carlo, Lauzon, Zboril, McAvoy, Grezlyck, O'Gara and Arnesson. All of whom will probablly be close to ready if not fully ready.

You commented on my last ACGM with something similar. You don't want to trade for any young solid (and in this case #1 stud) defenseman b/c of who we have already and our system?? You take Hampus Lindholm over Chara every day and twice on Sunday at this point. For one, ANA doesn't touch this trade. Why would they give up Lindholm, who's already a solid #1 at the age of 22 for a declining slow top 4 guy who's going to be gone in 2 years? Lindholm talks starts with Pastrnak+ (which I would do. The only dman I would trade Pastrnak for -- that is a realistic option).

You put way too much stock in thinking that every player in the defensive prospect pool is going to pan out.
