Boston Team Challenge

Salary Cap Mode: Basic

I guess you could say this is a challenge. Probably more for myself than anyone else but feel free to take part. What I am going to do is get rid of players on each of the 31 teams who will most likely not be protected during the expansion draft. Once I've done that I will call up players in the minors or sign players likely to join the teams (including RFA's). I'm allowing myself 1 free agent signing of a player not on the team already and won't allow myself to choose that same player for the other 30 teams. Anyone who is a free agent from the team will also be resigned unless they won't be protected in the expansion draft with one exception from each team. Once I finish this challenge with all 31 teams I would do a quick reflection to see how these teams look. As for 30 of the teams players will be sent to Vegas, but when I eventually do Vegas I will send the players on there to Anaheim.

Protected Players: Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak, Jake DeBrusk, Alex Pietrangelo, Charlie Coyle, David Krejci, Matt Grzelcyk, Charlie McAvoy, Brandon Carlo, Tuuka Rask
Signed Prospects: Curtis Hall, Jake Schmaltz
Exception: Ondrej Kase. The reason I chose him over Chara is because Chara is close to retirement. If he doesn't retire now then he will most likely retire next season.
Free Agent: Erik Gustafsson. With Krug leving the team, it opens a large hole in the teams defense. I heavily thought about Pietrangelo but I feel there would be too much resentment over the 2019 cup loss to build any chemistry with him. Gustafsson doesn't fill the void left by Krug but eventually the Bruins could find his replacement while having someone produce numbers for them in their machine and meshing pretty well with the team on and off the ice.
