Not really. Stepans numbers are reflective of the not so good offensively team he plays on. He is a pretty good two way C. That pick is likely going to be last in the 1st round, swapping it isnt a terrible move. I think atrocious is a term i would apply to your most recent Burns trade where we retain a crap load and get nothing useful at all in return, that my boy, is atrocious.

A 2nd and a potential A-tier prospect is not nothing, but go off I guess? Ask anyone else on this site about Stepan. They'll tell you he has negative value at his full cap hit. Retaining 2 million negates that negative value, but he still not worth A 1st, a third, and a decent 3rd liner. Stepan at $3 million is an okay 3C at the very best. I watched Arizona a good amount this year, and Stepan is nothing special. I like him, but I'm not living in fantasy land. I have absolutely no clue how you get to a 1st and a 3rd for Stepan. Also Tampa has no reason to pay that much for True. He's not worth that much, they don't need him.
