Description

Canucks need RD, 3C upgrade, and cap space next season. So obviously they should trade for LD OEL with too high a cap hit. 24 million to sign pettersson, hughes, demko + 5 bottom roster players is pretty tight so would need to move beagle after this year.

Wings pass, we don't have salary cap issues so retaining on Sutter doesn't add to his value. It's a 2021 3rd to take sutter

Fair enough! I still think there's a market for sutter with cap retained without paying that much, even if it's not on detroit.

At that retention, I'd imagine that at least one of the playoff teams would pay a pick for him at the deadline. At that point, Vancouver may want to keep him for their own playoff run though. Odd situation to be in.
