Too much money. We needed to get younger and faster. Matheson helps that. It would be good trade if Matheson term wasn’t so long. The contract amount isn’t even that bad. It’s the term. If Matheson was getting 4.8M for 3 more years or less , then the trade would have been great. And even 4 years wouldn’t be horrible. It’s the 6 year term that is bad. But Defense is always in need, and always has value. See J.Johnson, M.Staal and C.Ceci. So even if he doesn’t work out, he should still hold some value. But if he hits, then we definitely won the deal.

Hornqist was making too much money, C.Perry for 1-2 years at 1-1.2M would be great.

I don't hate it if poulin doesn't play.
But the thing in the end is the numbers game. They got so many guys signed already. Lafferty, ERod, Sceviour. I don't think they are running out to sign anyone else

Ya, if Poulin doesn’t win a roster spot. I would actually like it. Adds the toughness and down low net play we lost with Hornqvist. And adds a Right-handed shot to our PP. And he’s getting older at 35 so Rodrigues, Lafferty and Sceviour would still get some games.
