Florida needs a reliable centre, and 26yo Tierney is a 200 foot centre with 85 points in 152 games over the last two seasons, is good on the PK, and has only missed 6 games in 5 years, playing in 393 of 399 scheduled games. A healthy and dependable centre.

Ottawa needs a reliable RD to push Gudbranson and Zaitsev down in the pairings, and have a lot of centre depth to trade from. 26yo Weegar is a solid right shot defenceman that is responsible in his own end, and is mobile enough to play 20+ minutes a game.
