Description
The contracts for Petey and Hughes are partly based on the fact that neither of them have any leverage at all due to the fact there is no way any team can afford an offer sheet and Petey especially hasn't earn 10+, I bought out Holtby because he will most likely be picked by Seattle in the expansion draft

I’d try to get more term out of Petey and Hughes at that AAV. You could probably get 6 years I would guess, maybe more

Canucks aren't trading their 2nd best prospect and a 1st just to move Myers. He's still serviceable just overpaid. The deals for Hughes and Pettersson are also high. They'll get 7-7.5x3. The deals for Gaudette, Edler, and Benn are also a little high. If they're gonna spend 3.5 mil on a back up they might as well just keep Holtby as well and they might as well just keep Roussel for one more year too

Hughes probably gets far less on a bridge deal. He's not eligible for an offersheet and he doesn't have arbitration rights so he has no leverage. He's only played 1 full season really. When he first came up and burned his 1st year of his ELC he only played 5 games. Vancouver did that so he wouldn't be eligible for an offersheet. Then last year was a full season (sorta with the pause) and this season is short with only 55 possible games played but maybe less by Vancouver. Charlie McAvoy will be a good comparison for him. Keep in mind that Hughes has more points on his ELC than McAvoy did, but a similar amount of games.

For Pettersson, he really should how dominant he can be and Vancouver would be smart to pay him and sign him long term based on potential alone. Jack Eichel would be the best comparable there. And Pettersson has more points per game on his ELC than Eichel did so he'll wanna get paid.

In the end, I think it looks closer to this:
Hughes- 3 years x $5.3M
Pettersson - 8 years x $10.8M

Pettersson comp is Barzal and they have the same agent....Bridge deal is a certainty, but more then Barzel - My guess $8M
Hughes I think will be closer to $6-$6.5 range
