Description
All trades except for Varly and Duchene happen at the deadline, though there's a possibility the Canes pull the trigger at the deadline, more likely at the draft. Think it's fair? Trading him away with the assumption the Avs draft at #1 overall

Hanifin and Faulk are Carolina's untouchables. After the WJC, could add Gauthier to the list.

Everyone has "untouchables," but the Canes aren't exactly flush with 1Cs that score 30 goals with no help whatsoever at wing are they? Any deal that Sakic makes for Duchene or Landeskog will start with an untouchable. Gauthier can be replaced, but that's where I thought Sakic would start.

I'd make the trade from the Avs point of view

Just doubt that the cheap Canes would trade two potential stars for two years of Duchene. Canes can spend 6m better long term. Varly at 5.9 isn't worth nearly that much, especially when all teams can just protect one goalie.

The way I see it, the Canes are close to being competitors in the east. Duchene's loves the cowboy/country thing, so I figured it was possible he'd resign there. Definitely true with the Varly trade though. If any of them are a stretch, it's that one. What about Andersson, Elliot, and a 4th?
