I like these moves. And when it comes to Beleskey, how exactly does getting him to waive his M-NTC work? Because if he says no to waiving that, then he is automatically protected by us (which I'm ambivalent about).
Beleskey has a modified NTC, and doesn't need to be protected. Bruins can expose him if they want to. I think it'd be wise. I love the player, and the contract isn't bad, but expansion changes things, and getting it off the books with guys coming up would be helpful.
Quote: Is the McAvoy on the 1st pairing once the NCAA season is over and he is allowed to sign his ELC? To my knowledge, once the NCAA playoffs are over, and player who is leaving for the NHL can sign their ELC and start playing right away correct?
Correct. Once his season is over, Bruins get him signed and immediately give him a look. 1st pairing is probably a step, but it immediately looks better than McQuaid in the top 4. Obviously, they could just switch he and Carlo or McAvoy to 3rd pairing and top 4 returns to 'normal' (Carlo 1st, McQuaid 2nd).
Quote: I do like the idea of moving Backes down to 3rd line center, I think even if we don't pick up another winger it gives us more depth. I would rather have Vatrano play his natural LW than Beleskey though. Vatrano is more valuable as a goal scorer, where Beleskey just needs to get his big a** in front of the net haha.
with this mock, each line (besides the first, who plays a different style) has a big body a guy who looks to pass, and a finisher.
