Why are we making this trade with Vegas? Reeves didnt play a single game in the playoffs and is, essentially, a role/throw in player in the lineup. Plus were retaining money on Strome? why? What do we need their 1st round pick in a very weak draft?

Were still soft down the middle. Bottom 6 outside of Reeves is soft. We've replaced Buch who was scoring at a near ppg pace for Blake Coleman.

Detroit already have 6 very good LD prospects, what we need is veteran help until they mature, not more prospects.

We need a Veteran LD and some grit on the 4th line.
We get a 1st for Strome who we don't need long term(IMO) and that blocks our younger Centers. We're retaining on Strome because we have a lot of cap space this year and Vegas doesn't. It's also only one year.
I expect at least one of Chytil or Vilardi to take a step forward.

We save cap by dealing Buch and replacing him with Coleman.
We need a ton of cap in the future to resign Fox, Zbad, Kakko, Laf, Miller, Lundkvist etc.

Ok, I was just throwing it out there. I thought maybe Yzerman would like his former 2nd round pick back for a late 3rd. I think he still got some potential but we have no room for him.
