Sabres aren't going to do that. Not enough value for the cap dump of Kassian and Reinhart. Deal is also very easy to beat by anyone including a lower end top prospect (like Lind Kole or Martin Kaut) and a top 10 1st in 2021.

Lavoie is a top prospect, plus Strome who was a 3rd overall pick, plus a 1st rounder in a deeper draft. Marody just led the AHL in goals and was 3rd in points. Kass is to equal out the cash somewhat. And dont forget he was on pace for over 50 points in 2019-20. All those young guys need a protector. Thats why rumors of Pitt, NYR and Boston having some interest in Kassian is making the rounds.
