Since Hamilton isn't staying in Carolina, Don Waddle 100% matches that offer sheet on Andrei Svechnikov.

You have the Habs at some $48k under the cap next season in this scenario which is a problem to begin with because it leaves them NO wiggle room to start the season. Then you have them near the cap, which will not be going up for a few season, with both Suzuki and Evans up for their bridge contracts after next season and Caufield the following year. You'd be setting yourself up for massive cap headaches.

if you read the description to one of the trades, deangelo does not come in at 2,4 mill. instead he comes in at 1 mill. so technically they have around 1.4 mill in cap space. as for the younger guys needing deals, it'll be all bridge deals. by the time those 2-3 year bridge deals are up, contracts like toffoli, edmundson etc will be over and we can expect a slight increase in cap by that time as well.

Fair enough...but $1.4mil isn't a **** load of money either, especially if the Habs have to make trades during the season to improve the team. Doable, certainly not easy. On that note, have a good one.
