Description

Great to have Copper back for the coming season. I’m hoping the Jets extend him to a long term extension by Christmas. $3.64m was all the Jets could afford this season but by next year, Perfetti will be ready to move into Stastny’s spot and save close to $3m per season. $1m per year goes to Copp, $1m to Dubois and $500k is split between increases for Vesalainen and Harkins. Assuming the proposed $1m cap increase happens, that would leave $1.5m to upgrade the roster.

Zajac and Brassard are brought in to give Maurice his veteran 4th line he always covets.

The 4 players on the taxi squad all deserve some time in the NHL to test their development.

I like vet idea, but would prefer kids in those spots or vets that might actually push and challenge top 6 like staal and perry did for Montreal last year, not sure if there is such a wish for Winnipeg in the bargain bin.
