Description
The idea is that you want to have a Cup team this year or in the next 2 years.
You have to keep the team together for 3 years and all players remain at their current salary (or are re-signed at their current salary for 3 years).
At the end of the 3 years you can TRY to do what you want with the team (i.e. try to get rid of bad contracts and old guys yet keep the young guys and sign them for what they are worth).
The line combinations stay as they are for 3 years too.
Murray (2 time Cup winner) is the starting goalie for 3 years, meaning he plays at least 42 games per year. But he gets paid $6M +
Taking into consideration all of the characteristics of the team (potential, age, quality of person etc) would you do this as an organization?

Probably not.

Have to re-sign Fox, Barkov, Laine, Suzuki, and Vilardi in one year (with the majority coming off ELCs) and none of the big contracts expire in that time. It would be impossible to keep this team together.

For one year, why not -- but any longer and this team rapidly falls apart.

I understand what you are saying, but for the purpose of this exercise, the expiring contracts are still paid the same for three years and then players become UFAs or RFAs

Didn't see the "remain at the current salary" part

I still don't particularly like this team since the lines have to be the same for 3 years -- I really dislike these lines. You could actually make a pretty good squad if you could mix them up, but as it stands I just don't like it.

Yeah, I know. The part about keeping the lines together (some could be good, others could be quite bad) was intended to make people think about it even more.
