Pearson might be worth a contract but does any team want to or has the ability to fit him in under their cap?
I think the "problem" with this post is paying Hughes, the 8th highest Dman in the league.

He is if no team wants him and Van needs cap room. What team makes a reasonable trade for him with value in return?

It's been a wild off-season for d-men. I feel it's that on a long term or 6.5-7 on a 3 year.

True, Dahlin just signed for 6m X 3. And Hughes has less leverage contract wise than Dahlin. I know folks base players value on points and obviously Hughes had more than Dahlin. Hughes had a lot more help with his Dmen and forwards than Dahlin has ever had. Who is the better Dman?
