Description

Barrie has been a pile of hot garbage defensively and with Bouchard stepping up I think the best move the Oilers can make is to move Barrie and shore up the RHD. Manson is on an expiring deal and could be available (not sure if there are any other rumours about him or if the OIlers would be on his NTC).

There would definitely be cost associated with moving Barrie's contract the way he's looked so far. Probably would be smarter to hold him for a bit and see if he can recover a bit but overall the Oilers should be looking to improve the RHS for a playoff run. Anaheim could potentially retain and flip Barrie for an asset as there may be teams interested in him at less of a cap hit. Anaheim has a wide open cap picture and could handle Barrie's contract easily. I could see them maybe pushing for one of the Oilers top prospects instead of pure picks to accelerate their rebuild.
