Description
Read trade comments, feedback would be great. Enstrom's contract is up when Ehlers needs one so all that money goes to Nik and don't resign Toby. Stuart and Halak aren't resigned and defense pipeline is much improved so whoever of Nogier/Kostalek/Heiskanen/Stanley steps up gets into the lineup to fill the hole. Give Little/Wheeler similar money for 1-3 when contracts are up if play is consistent and there should be no problem giving Laine what he deserves (7-9 mil). Halak mentors Hellebuyck who will be much better with a semi-competent defense in front of him and if not both Comrie and Philips are very good prospects and could create a 1a/1b situation with halak or maybe a darling or grubauer type goalie.

    1. Stoner, Clayton
    2. Theodore, Shea
    3. Vatanen, Sami
    Additional Details:
    Before expansion draft
    - Ducks lose Stoner's contract
    - Get to protect Silfverberg in expansion draft by switching to 7-3-1 with Fowler, Lindholm and Manson protected (assuming Bieksa waives NMC)
    - Get very highly ranked offensive dynamo prospect in Connor which they desperately need in the fast-paced modern NHL, a young and physical bottom six guy in Dano and a pick.
    ANA
    1. Connor, Kyle
    2. Dano, Marko
    3. 2018 3rd round pick (NYI)
    Additional Details:
    - Jets gain a fantastic, defensive, defenseman in Vatanen and a good LHD prospect in Theodore which bolsters our fairly poor defense pipeline.
    - Take on Stoners contract to make trade happen and it will be finished by the time Laine needs a contract.

    WPG
Vegas gets a cult player in Byfuglien and both him and Matthias make them competitive immediately which is quite important to them.
      VGK
      1. Byfuglien, Dustin
      2. Matthias, Shawn
      Additional Details:
Expansion deal, Buff is horrible in the defensive zone and is only gonna get worse, also his contract has too much money tied up for too long and will make it difficult to resign all the kids. Matthias is a standard bottom six guy but doesn't fit into the lineup here.

Sami Vatanen is considered an offensive/ PP Dman. And I don't think the Ducks would trade 3 D in one trade... IMO

He has decent defensive metrics and the ducks come out with a solid top 2 d lines and a great pipeline so I think they'd do it especially because of how bad their offensive prospect pool is.

So you have taken the jets 2 best dmen and replaced them with seriously inferior players. The jets are much worse with that defense core. Vantanen isn't much better than buff defensively and you lose a ton of the offensive side. Shot generation is as import maybe more than shot suppression.
