COUCH ON ICE
Check out the Couch On Ice Podcast where we go over 23 man rosters for each Division. Deeming a starting roster of 18 skaters and 2 goalies. Added with an extra for each position creating a 23 man roster. The point here is not to propose a massive change to the All-Star format, but to simply recognize the top 10% of the league. The All-Star game and events do not have to change, they can be for fun and for the kids, more or less. That's fine, but lets create something to look back on.
With 32 teams in, creating 4 divisional 23 man rosters, that names just over 12.5% of the leagues players" All-Stars". The starting lineup is exactly 80 players which is 10.9% of a full 32 23 man rostered league. Also stuck with naming one from each team to the starting lineup, but honestly pretty fine without doing that as I want to represent the best of the best since the last All-Star break.
Hook these guys up with a medal, some cash, whatever honestly. Personal accolades are almost impossible to come by for 90% of the league. This at least gives recognition to the players that were huge pieces to success over a years span of the regular season.
