My definition of the term:

Leafs Legend - A player whose rights were at one time owned by the Toronto Maple Leafs, albeit for a brief period of time.
EX:
Person A: "Dude, did you see Stefan Noesen's new contract?"
Person B: "Yeah, he's a Leafs Legend."
