Description
In the case that Anaheim doesn't want to get rid of Fowler, it would mean Lindholm might be an option. I can see Anaheim asking for a lot for Lindholm as they think he is the future of their blue line hence why they signed him to a long term deal. I don't think there is a legitimate fit for that reason but this is roughly what it would take to get him.

The Eakin trade for Beleskey I've seen a few times. The optimal scenario for the Bruins would be to get rid of Beleskey and Hayes contract for low round draft picks but the fact is there might not be any takers. Bringing in Eakin gives the Bruins a true 3C that can play both sides of the puck and maybe a trade will turn his game around. In adding Subban to that trade, it helps with the expansion draft in that either Miler, McQuaid, Nash would become the only real targets for the VGK.

I would assume that ANA is planning on keeping Lindholm over Fowler.

That's what I would think as well but from what I've seen on here, the ANA fans are saying Fowler won't be traded and will re sign with them. I can't see how they are going to keep all 3 LHD in Theodore, Lindholm, Fowler on top of having Vatanen, Bieksa, Manson, Stoner.

Do you mean expansion draft, or just salary cap? Remember, they're just fans at the end of the day they know as much as you and I do lol

Fowler has been rumored to be available by actual sources. I'd trust them over the fans.

We can all assume that one of Vatanen or Manson is going to be left unprotected or get traded, though the majority of Vegas mock drafts that I see have them taking Silfverberg, so who knows (Also, if you trade one, you still end up having to leave the other unprotected...better to lose just one or both?)

Stoner is on LTIR and most likely won't play again. Even if he does, he's got 1 year left on his contract. Bieksa has 1 year left on his contract as well. Bieksa is rumored to be willing to waive his NTC for the expansion draft because he knows he won't be picked. Worst case, they buy him out. No big deal. Plus, by the time Fowler's (potential) extension hits, both of those guys are gone.

Not exactly sure what purpose Spooner would serve on the Ducks?

As for Eakin? I'm not sure what motivation the Stars would have to move him here? I think it would take more than a cap dump and a (at this point) low value goalie prospect to get him. I'm assuming that Dallas wants to move one (or both) of their overpriced goalies, so anyone looking to move a contract like Belesky's would likely have to take one back.

I'm meaning cap wise, eventually they're going to be in trouble, especially when Gibson gets off his 2.5 mil contract. For expansion I figure they protect 8 players and let a forward go rather than lose one of Vatanen, Fowler, Lindholm. That's what I was thinking but it also made me think maybe the Ducks writers knew more than what we've heard reported from the major sources. I 100% agree that it will most likely be Fowler because that's what we've been hearing for the past 6 months but this is in the case they for some reason want to keep Fowler.
