Description
These are NOT my ideas, just trying to see thoughts on here.

My thoughts:
1. Blues are definitely overpaying for Chiarot, I think he nets us a 1st without anything else and I would not mind retaining for that.

2. I do not know much about Henriksson so please tell me how he is, but I would expect Lehkonen to either net a 1st + decent prospect, or Lundkvist/Kravstov 1-for-1.

3. Sure, go for it, we do not really need Allen in a rebuild although I would've liked that 2nd + 3rd back, which could be possible knowing the unpredictability of these deadlines.

4. I put Kulak's value at a 5th, so sure yea wont hurt to get a 4th instead.

5. I am not sure if Ryan Suzuki can pan out to be a 1st round talent, im sure this is up to debate but I think it would be better to have Seth Jarvis with the 2 2nd or Ryan Suzuki with 1 1st + 1 2nd/3rd.

6. I couldn't care what we get for Petry, he clearly does not want to be here and I would be happy if management traded him for a bag of foam pucks and 5 traffic cones during the middle of a game out of disrespect.

7. I would not mind a 2nd instead of the 1st here, but that contract does look atrocious.

Lines:

The lines they suggest look like they might work in Chel Be a GM, but in an actual setting, we do need Pezzetta and I could see him being part of the long time future for us. I also think that Caufield should be put on the 1st line with Drouin/Suzuki.

Drouin/Suzuki/Caufield
Anderson/Dvorak/Gallagher
Hoffman/Evans/Pitlick
Pezzetta/Poehling/Kostin
Byron/Weatherby

Romanov/Wideman
Edmundson/Clague
Vlasic/Savard
Niku

Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Kostin, Klim
  2. 2022 1st round pick (STL)
  3. 2023 4th round pick (STL)
Additional Details:
"I know a lot of people have different opinions on Ben Chiarot, and while I understand that the return he's going to net at the deadline is insane, he's also the type of player who thrives in the postseason, so it might be worth it for a condenter.
The Canadiens get a 2022 1st, a young player who needs a change of scenery, and another late pick, while the Blues add a defenseman that they desperately need."
2.
MTL
  1. Henriksson, Karl
  2. 2022 2nd round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
"Reports are saying that Artturi Lehkonen is one of the most desired names on the trade market, and for that reason the Canadiens HAVE to move him. I expect a handful of teams to pursue him, but I think the best fit is the Rangers. They'll have no problem giving up a 2022 2nd and a prospect to add to their depth for a playoff run."
3.
MTL
  1. 2022 6th round pick (EDM)
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
"It's hard to see Jake Allen's true trade value, but I think this is about considering how deep the goaltending trade market is. The Canadiens don't really need him anymore considering their rebuild stance, so might as well take a mid-round pick from a desperate oilers team and that's looking for an answer in net."
4.
MTL
  1. 2022 4th round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
"Kind of just a minor trade, but I think Brett Kulak is a solid depth add to the blue line on any playoff team. He's a pending UFA and won't be back next season, so the Canadiens will likely move him. Los Angeles seems like a solid fit considering they're looking for some defensive help."
5.
MTL
  1. Suzuki, Ryan
  2. 2022 2nd round pick (CAR)
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
"Toffoli has term on his contract, so this isnt't a move that HAS to happen, but I think it should considering the Canadiens should be planning to rebuild. Reports have said the Hurricanes badly want to win and are willing to trade for virtually any impact player, so I think Toffoli is a fit. He'll help replace the hole that Niederreiter leaves in the offseason, and he's for sure an upgrade over him. For the Canadiens, they basically net a first round pick (Ryan Suzuki) and two second round picks. Plus you have to get the brothers together."
6.
MTL
  1. 2022 2nd round pick (DAL)
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
"Jeff Petry is a good defenseman, let's get that straight. However, he desperately wants out of Canada, is having the worst season he's had since his days in Edmonton, and his over $6M AAV cap hit for many more years diminishes his value. I think the Stars are interested, just because I can't see Jim Nill planning to rebuild for as long as he is there as GM. Petry would replace Klingberg, who is inevitably gone by next season, and I think the fresh start would be good for him to return back to his normal playing style."
7.
MTL
  1. Vlasic, Marc-Édouard
  2. Weatherby, Jasper
  3. 2022 1st round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
(If the pick ends up in the top-10, it's moved back to 2023).

"Now that the Canadiens are rebuilding, they can afford to take on bad contracts for compensation, and that's why I have them taking on one of the worst contracts in the league in Marc-Edouard Vlasic. The Sharks need to clear cap space with Meier, Ferraro & Hertl up in the next 1-2 offseasons, and Vlasic is just dead weight on their blue line. It hurts for San Jose to move a first-round pick during what is still essentially a "retool" period for them, but I think it's something that needs to be done."
8.
MTL
  1. 2022 7th round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
Any team (not from Puck Empire)
SJS
  1. Paquette, Cédric
  2. Perreault, Mathieu
Additional Details:
Players I would like to see getting traded.

Blues decline. There was a story in "The Athletic" today that Doug Armstrong won't pay a 1st round price for rentals like Giordano or Chiarot.

Rangers accept.

If thats the case with the Blues and their 1st rounder, could you see an alternative to the trade that doesnt include it? Or do you mean like any asset thats worth a 1st.

Maybe Kostin and a 2023 2nd? I think they don't want to move their first because they have no second due to the Buchneivich trade.
