Description
This is really wishful thinking but I think that there is a possibility that it could happen. It would be really interesting if this did all happen but I think that it is quite wishful thinking.

- Matt Murray is bough out along with Nikita Zaitsev as he can block a trade with his M-NTC

No trade ends up happening and he leaves Minnisota for free and then with the help of the young strong core that Ottawa has built and the potential to play right in the top six . He also gets generous signing bonuses,

    1. 2023 4th round pick (TOR)
    TOR
    1. Brown, Joshua
    Additional Details:
Big mean defenseman that is better than Dermot and would probably be the seventh, the Leafs would need one of these defenseman as they will have to play Florida or Tampa in the first round, neither of which I like their chances for. He is also a RD which elevates his value. If not Toronto, then someone will pay a fourth for him as this is a sellers market.

      1. Tierney, Chris ($50 retained)
      Additional Details:
To whichever team wants him for whatever his value is, it might be near a third or a fourth. He can be really streaky so the team that will get him will hope for a hot playoffs. Also retain half of the salary in this trade and the previous one.

      1. Sanford, Zachary
      Additional Details:
They get a big physical player that was acquired by Ottawa for about a third and with Colorado going all in he will give them a lot of playoff experience and give a lot of size to their bottom six, he can also score and play on the second powerplay pretty well.

      1. Ennis, Tyler

      Additional Details:
Not Detroit but just any team that wants his depth for the playoffs. Any one of the three picks highlighed below. Probably the fifth if I had to guess.
      DET
      1. Mete, Victor
      Additional Details:
Any team looking for defensive depth. Brannstromm has surpassed him and been better throughout the course of the season.

      1. Kravtsov, Vitali
      2. 2023 3rd round pick (NYR)
      NYR
      1. Paul, Nicholas
      Additional Details:
Kravtsov would be the main piece of the deal and this would kinda act as a 1 for 1 but if Kravtsov is not able to come over or does not want to come over then it is not a complete loss for the Sens, he would get a chance to play in the top six or top 9 immediatly and would help the Sens by giving them a big body. New York would get back an extremely valuable bottom six forward that could play well with their top six. I don't see this as New York's year to make a run with Toronto, Florida, Tampa, and Carolina so I don't see them making a big splash but Paul would be a great addition for low cost that would be tremendously usefull for the Rangers.

I know, that's why I said I'm dreaming, I'm sure though that if the Sens got all those picks they could've just sent acquired him for two thirds. Also sometimes it doesn't allways work out and I think that McBain may indead have to wait to the offseason.

Ottawa could very well be a good spot for McBain. But Minni isn't going to get much for him (or they shouldn't). I'm sure NHL GMs don't like the idea of college grads being UFAs. So unless Minni gets something reasonably high, they just might not even trade McBain so he can't burn off a year of ELC. I'm sure playoff contenders aren't in on McBain. They don't want to see him get his minimum number of games in the regular season, cause it might make their team worse this year.

Agree, also their assets that they would spend on McBain would be better used elsewhere, I think that McBain might thrive alongside Stutzle and someone else.

Sorry about this but I also forgot to add LW/RW Andrei Kuzmenko who would come over from Russia if he was able to and play in Ottawa's top six or middle six.
