Description
LTIR represents trade capital that can be used.

Not sure what the goalie plan is, so left that alone.

Also not sure if they intend to bring back Middleton. Taxi squad shows guys who should be challenging for spots by 23-24.

I've really liked Middleton with Spurgeon. It was my favorite deadline acquisition at the time, and I still feel the same way. I hope we can find a way to re-sign him.

For goalie, if I had to guess, Guerin will want to bring Fleury back for at least another season and perhaps he signs him on a 2 year deal with the possibility of Fleury going on LTIRetirement that last year. Ideally you get him for just one year since he's almost 40.

I think Dumba gets at least $5M AAV if he takes a paycut. I'd be really happy with that, but if I'm Dumba I probably take the $7M AAV or so he could get in free agency.

Definitely with you on using Addison as possible trade bait. I don't see him included in trades on here often, but Dean's usage of him this season makes me think he is probably on the block this summer. I'd like to try and package him with Fiala for a nice futures package. Another idea would be a 1 for 1 swap, although I don't know if we have the roster space for another D/forward.

I’m with you on Middleton. I think he’s a very good fit with Spurge and someone that you should keep around for relatively cheap until the prospects mature.

Dumba you’re probably right. I think it’s likely $5M floor. I really believe that he’s in Guerins long term plans, which sort of leads into the Addison conversation. He’s not a 3rd pair player and he becomes somewhat redundant behind Spurge and Dumba. He’s a tricky one though because he has legit upside and a seemingly safe floor of “everyday NHLer.” You don’t want to sell low on a guy like that.

I lean towards a prospect swap on him, but a package with Fiala seems realistic too.

There’s also a small part of me that worries Guerin will package Middleton with Fiala.
