Trades
1.
EDM
  1. Hakanpää, Jani
  2. Studenic, Marian [RFA Rights]
  3. Tufte, Riley [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
This is simple idea that would happen sometime in the offseason.

The main piece of the deal would be Hakanpaa who is pretty much a 3rd paring defenseman for Barrie who can be a force when played CORRECTLY. He also would be a decent replacement for Klingberg and wouldn't have any long term cap implications and would make it quite easy to sign Robertson, Hintz and other core pieces long-term.
DAL
  1. Barrie, Tyson
  2. Benson, Tyler [RFA Rights]
  3. 2024 4th round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Benson and Studenic or Tufte are basically a wash and the fourth on Edmonton's end is pretty much to help Dallas swallow the Barrie cap hit and pay for either Tufte or Studenic.
2.
EDM
ARI
  1. Kassian, Zack
  2. Shore, Devin
  3. 2024 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Kassian shouldn't cost much to dump. He's not a huge contract and Shore is there to give him an opportunity and to help pay for the Kassian dump. The second is to complete the cap dump.
3.
EDM
    Anton Stralman
    ARI
He signs a very team friendly deal for a chance to win the cup.

I don't think a lot of people realized that he actually did very well in Arizona and is still a very capable defender and can help mentor a young D core.
      4.
      EDM
        Colin White
        OTT
Colin White is boughout from Ottawa and Edmontons signs him as he tries to restore his value.

I think he'll be good enough but I did try and improve the defense and offense because if they are good and running on all cylinders then you don't need great goaltending. I also think Smith will be decent and that Stuart Skinner is ready for a bigger and better role and could potentially take over the starter position.

Value is fine for the Dallas trade, but you'd need to find a way to make the trade without including Hakanpaa. Dallas needs to add RD, not simply replace the ones on their roster. Adding Barrie isn't the worst idea for Dallas, but trading Hakanpaa for him still leaves Dallas with a roster gap on the right side of their blue line.

Fair enough, I would then replace Stralman with Hakanpaa and take out the third coming in from Edmonton.

Maybe you add a third coming back from Dallas to balance out the value.

          So like:
          To EDM:
          Studenic
          Tufte
          3rd round pick

          TO DAL:
          Barrie
          Benson
          4th

I like Studenic, but depending on what the rest of the RD market looks like this offseason, I'd probably accept it if I'm Dallas.
