Bonino is as good as gone. Look at Brandon Sutter.. not as good, but he's 4.4m a year after a career high 21 goals a few years ago. Bonino is good for 18-25 goals. It's not necessary for Pens to pay a 30yr old 3rd line center nearly 5 million. Sheary scored 23 goals and yes he's faded down the stretch but his new deal will be around 3.5m, not 1.8m. Schultz is also undervalued. He has no reason to sign for anything less than 5m. He scored 51 points, good for 7th among defensemen. Management loves Dumoulin and he'll be protected from Vegas, then signed for nearly 4m himself. He's better defensively than Olli is and Olli makes 4m. There's no room to sign Daley or Hainsey and the value in trading Fleury (if he agrees to be moved) isn't the return- it's the cap space that you can then use to sign the talent the Pens already have.

Sutter, Bonino essentially interchangeable...hence why they're traded for each other...output was very similar on the Pens. Sutter is playing on a very bad Canuck team who overpaid Sutter, plus they signed a 27 year old Sutter, Bonino is coming out of his prime at 29. Bonino probably gets somewhere in between you two, 4.25 million. Schultz is a RFA and at your tag that's a 1st and 3rd coming this way...is he worth 5 million plus that? He's a system player and will make similar doe he made in EDM, say 3 year deal 10-10.5 Mill. More I think of it Pens may go 4-4-1...Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, Hornqvist, Letang, Schultz, Dumo, Maatta, and Murray. Hags, Sunqvidst, and Rust could be picked. I agree Fleury's return is too high, we may swap firsts this year and get a mid round pick...worth the 10 spot or so move up.
