Description
This is my first version. Doesn't factor in deals/trades yet but this is the baseline I have for Vegas right now and some guys I'd personally target in FA since they have endless cap to spend as of now.

Not sure why people think Carrier will be exposed.

Also, your free agent examples are great ways to show why picking up salary in the draft rather than free agency works better. you had to hand out 5 year deals. salary dumps proposed on here that are laughed at often have 1-2 years left on them.

Seriously doubt that Shattenkirk, Alzner and Oshie waste their best years on an expansion team Shattenkirk wants to play in the Northeast US. Oshie probably resigns back with the Caps and Alzner will test the UFA market just like Shattenkirk.

Would you rather give out five year deals to UFA that can actually play in the top-4 or top-6 or take a cap dump that can't skate? I think you're looking at it completely wrong lol. If anything it shows that there is no reason for Vegas to take everyone's bad contract when they have so many routes they can go. Yeah a cap dump contract might have 1-2 years left, but why would Vegas want a team full of 4th liners being overpaid when they could actually fill a formidable team by just picking guys. If you really think having a cap dump at 1-2 years is better than having one of the Russian FA signings or Oshie I'd love to hear that reasoning.

Also, like I said this is just my guess. Sorry if I'm not "tuned in" to Carrier and his situation. Seems like petty stuff to complain about. For all we know everyone i took could be protected - we won't know until it's time. Stop trying to take the fun out of it.

I never said anything about taking everyones bad contracts. i talked about taking a few contracts with 1 or 2 years left to get to the floor. they are going to have to vastly overpay free agents to come. they are going to be awful for a few years.

I didn't say they want to go to Vegas, but if Vegas is the only team that meets their $$$ demands and term I wouldn't be shocked. Can the caps afford $6.7M for Oshie? Can the B's or Rangers afford $6.7M for Shatty?
