Seriously people need to stop thinking we're going in on patrick kane just because of a larry brooks article.
We're not moving kakko for kane. That would be a giant 2 step back trade. Kane is a UFA, and while we came very close this season, that doesn't mean we're going to immediately abandon our depth (which is one of the reasons we lasted as long as we did), to try and take a step further.

Chara sucks, White was bought out for a reason, and Ryan Dzingel is completely unnecessary

Literally the only good move you made was signing Charlie Lindgren, and that's the most universally supported Rangers move for this offseason..

First of all, that Kane trade sucks for the Rangers. we'd be giving up two picks, including a 1st, in a very deep draft, along with Kaapo Kakko, who I can guarantee is staying, and Nils Lundkvist, one of our best defensive prospects. Also Matthew Rempe, who is kind of useless. All this for a player in his mid 30s, who despite putting up 90+ points last year was analytically terrible both offensively and defensively, when we could get a better center for a much cheaper price tag. J.T. Miller would reportedly cost Lundkvist, Kravtsov, and a 2023 1st, and he's on a cheaper contract, scored more points and goals, and is significantly better on both ends of the ice. Plus Miller has played here before, with a few of the current roster, so there's that too. I mean it'd probably be better to give Copp a short-term contract around 7M than to overpay for an out-of-prime Kane to exist on our team for a season, cause at least Copp defends...

I don't understand why anyone would suggest a competent GM like Drury would swap our offense for an analytically garbage Kane, and our depth for Colin White and Ryan Dzingel
