The same reason the leafs would be adding in a Nylander / Wilson swap -- NHL front offices way overvalue size and physicality while undervaluing skill. Nick Foligno and Alex DeBrincat got very similar returns. Josh Anderson was about to get 13oa. Like it or not Wilson is a completely unique player in the league and besides Ovechkin the most skilled version of that big physical winger that every team loves. He is also under team control for one more year and will most likely be extended for less.

It doesn't really matter anyways as the point of the caps trading for Miller would be to go all in this year and not give up important roster players, but I honestly cannot see them doing a straight Wilson / Miller swap, let alone adding Iorio and a 1st.
