might as well give Bedard a shot bc the team is stuck in neutral... can't move Grubauer and Wennberg but just not enough talent to compete, and Gaudreau wouldn't change that

I could even see adding another pick to the JVR trade, might as well add as many mid round picks as it takes to get the extra 1st, and I like his contract since the cash will be much less than the cap hit after bonuses are paid in July

It's a decent concept despite the Kraken not tanking irl.

Zaitsev wouldn't be a free acquisition, Ottawa is going to have to pay to have someone take that contract. See Seabrook for Johnson and a 2nd.

Im sorry i know "the price is being driven up to dump cap" but nobody is trading a 2023 1st, nevermind one with potential to be top 10, in a cap dump. I would do this:
