As a Habs fans, I do that deal in a heartbeat. I think you'd get canned as GM is you only got a 3rd liner, and 3rd pairing d-man, and a 3rd round pick for RNH.

Edmonton loses both these deals by a long shot, especially the MTL trade.

Maybe this is a win for San Jose and their fans but definitely not for Edmonton. People don't realize Eberle had a 76 point season a few years ago. San Jose would have to throw in a 2nd round pick too for Ebs and probably more (maybe). Eberle will be back to his 60 point seasons soon if he has structure around him. In Edmonton he was lost within the McDavid scene. Eberle with Couture/Thornton with top PP time will score quite often. If you tweak the trade to make it fairer for EDM than this trade is a win/win for both San Jose and Edmonton. Other than that awesome idea! I love it!
