I don’t know how it works or effects the cap unlike a cap hit. Can someone please explain the differences it has to a p hit or anything for that matter? In Lindblom’s case the cap hit is -333333. Does is man that gain that space?

Buyouts are charged using a formula based on (a) AAV, (b) money paid out, (c) years of deal and (d) age of player.

Sometimes heavily backloaded deals can produce negative number in earlier years (with bigger positive numbers in later years). So here, it is essentially an extra $333,333 in cap space for this coming season.
