Description

Leafs waive Muzzin to Marlies to save enough cap to get two iffy Dmen in the lineup. Don't think Muzzin would be claimed. Sandin lost to offer sheet. Engvall not resigned.......6.9m could have spend a lot better than Murray and Jarnkrok.
The Leafs could have signed goalie Comrie for 2m, Engvall for 1.8m, Sandin for 2.1m total 5.9m) which I think would have made the Leafs better.

The issues in my mind:
- there is no player on the Leafs can replace what Muzzin brings when he is on his game
- if he isn't claimed on waivers then I believe he only saves $1,250,000 on the cap leaving $4,400,000 against the cap which still doesn't work
- If he is claimed on waivers by a team who wants him and has the cap space then he probably should have been traded.
