In a perfect world...

Kapanen lives up to his potential and is able to play as Malkin's RW.

Puustinen who has already seen as NHL ready, takes the next step and becomes the third line RW.

Smith feels comfortable after a full training camp/preseason with the Penguins and is able to start on the third pairing with Rutta.

Poehling has a solid training camp and starts to show some of his potential. He starts as a healthy scratch though and shares time with O'Connor on the fourth line.

This means some players have to go through waivers. Caggiula and Archibald I believe could definitely clear waivers during the time when other teams are making cuts during training camp. They can start in the AHL. Joseph has the likeliest chance of getting claimed if he does not make the NHL roster. If Smith shines, I can see Hextall capitalizing on asset management and trading Joseph for a draft pick.
