That's not even close to get Hanifin.

Why would canes take older and worse D back and Spooner who what I've seen doesn't hold much value that late first on weak draft doesn't help.

Based on what? Anyways don't see any point swapping defenders, specially for unproven 1. Hanifin is already top 4 Dman. Canes would be looking Jones RyJo type of deal.
