I dunno, if the aim is the playoffs Pittsburgh can't afford not to have him. Joseph hasn't done anything at the NHL level and Ty Smith was one of the worst players in the league last year. Pittsburgh only has a couple of kicks at the can before the roster is heading to the retirement community, wasting a year praying for those two to be enough is not gonna get you there imo.
