Description

With a 23 man roster and Bernier not on LTIR, Devils have -700k in cap space. That likely would not be the case since they would start the season with Bernier on LTIR.

If Bernier comes off of LTIR, Devils would need to make a move to keep a 23 man roster. Bernier gets sent down to the AHL, the likelyhood of him being claimed is slim. This gives the Devils 400k in cap space.

I don't think the Devils need/should make a cap move unless they want cap flexibility or get a good offer. For example of a team offers a 4th for Johnsson, Devils should take it.

Once Zetterlund signs, the offseason is complete. The forward core is very interesting since we have 5 players who can play in the bottom 6 but are either scratched or in AHL since there are too many players.

We can move Johnsson....we can put guys through waivers...we can bury guys in AHL......there are plenty of tools left.
