Description
A team of players from countries where hockey is not as popular.

I had to take some defensemen from Switzerland and one from Germany to fill the defense, countries that are a little more popular with hockey.

Bold leaving out Bjorkstrand and Ehlers if you're including Andersen. This is really cool to see!

I only wanted to use countries with less than 5 players currently, but I needed an extra goalie. So I took a goalie from the next rarest country in terms of hockey players. Denmark has 7 currently I think. I had enough forwards from countries like France where there’s only 3 players. So taking a guy, in this case a goalie, from Denmark was my last resort.

Gotcha, I see your thought process on that. What about Khudobin? He's Khazakhstani. Or Bulgarian Georgiev? I suppose both are also Russian, though. RIP as always to Kivlienieks, as well.

Khudobin was born there when it was the Soviet Union. Kazakhstan didn’t show up on the website when I was doing it though so I forgot about him. I forgot that Georgiev was from there. The website I used also didn’t tell me that. I’ll add Khudobin and Georgiev.

It's sort of like Leo Komarov. He grew up in and plays for Finland internationally but was born in Soviet Estonia to Russian parents. I also think it's interesting to see lists of guys from more obscure countries. I actually figured Sharangovich was Russian, so this AGM taught me something new.
