Description
First thing to do is clear up some cap space. Move foegele and throw in a sweetener to anybody needing bottom 6 scoring.
Next is the trade which will involve Chicago, Edmonton and a team attempting to reach the cap floor (Arizona).
Before Chicago fans come in my replies and say "the deals not fair Chicago would never do that" please remember that Kane is 33 years old with 1 year left on his deal and he likely won't resign in Chicago. It's a ticking time bomb and Chicago is the frontrunners in the Bedard bowl, having patrick kane certainly won't help land Bedard.
Breaking down the trade: In order to land Kane Chicago likely wants futures and a roster player to boot. I figure the oilers aren't keeping Puljujarvi so why not throw him into a Patrick Kane deal. Automatically that's insane value for Chicago but Oilers still come up short. Chicago will likely want a first rounder in return and a high rated prospect. Immediately any first round prospect is off the table as the price would come in too high for oilers and Kenny Holland likely wouldn't go for it. To get around this I'll throw in a B level prospect and add a third rounder to boot. I think that's the most that oilers would be willing to give up in exchange for Kane at 50% retained.
Second part of the deal would get Arizona who's trying to hit the cap floor to retain another 50% of Kanes already retained salary. In exchange I would throw in a second rounder and a prospect as it is simply retaining salary which Arizona already needs and its on a one year deal which doesn't impact Arizona long term. Again I believe this to be the the most that the oilers would be willing to pay. In the end oilers would end up with Patrick Kane at 75% retained for one year which I believe would bring them the closest they've ever come to the cup in the previous 15 years.

BUF is not taking Foegele unless you throw in a 1st round pick.

Poolparty has ZERO value to the Hawks. They don't want roster players. They want picks and prospects. If you are not including a top prospect and a 2023 1st the conversation is not even getting started.

Kane is barely worth puljujarvi I think your massively overrating kanes value and underrating puljujarvi. in a bidding war Chicago would be lucky to get that much of a haul for him

Buffalo ain't a playoff team and needs to reach the cap floor. foegele lets them do that and gives Buffalo bottom 6 scoring. not that Buffalo needs that they prolly not a playoff team and still in the running for the Bedard bowl

He doesn't fit in the lineup and BUF already reached the cap floor. It's a hard pass. Don't want him. No one does.
