here's my theory ok oilers need 2 things come trade deadline a real defenseman and some middle 6 depth
for the defenseman obviously I'm gonna snag chuchryn from Arizona cause ez his trade values dropped this season
for middle 6 depth I'm gonna grab a center/winger from Seattle cause Seattle's got a bunch of those and Shane Wright needs to play up there so me grabbing one of those guys will allow him to play up
also of opportunity presents itself I'd also like to snag a one mr carson sussy from Seattle cause a real defensive d man wouldn't hurt lol
just for interest sake people say edmonton would be in on Jonny toes from Chicago but tbh I wouldn't take him if Chicago paid us cause he's a 5 million defensive liability and he can't even produce offensively anymore so just gonna include the trade that hawks would have to make for me to say yes (hawks fans are gonna be mad but idc cause toes is actually awful and I would never ever trade for him)

That Toews trade is not even remotely close. Toews doesn't suck and he has been proving all of you haters wrong so far this season, that includes myself because I was pretty sure he was done too. Did you propose that trade simply to talk crap about Toews? Even if Toews does come back down to earth a bit and/or has a bad season, they would sooner just not trade him than "pay someone to take him". There is absolutely no reason for CHI to move Toews unless he, first, asks for a trade, and second, the trade brings in pieces that help our rebuild.
