Description
First off thanks to all the medical staff on hand during last night's game. I'm sure all of oil country is extremely grateful for the fast reactions and attention given to kaner. I get that situation will generate by far the most attention but it was a flukely accident the inncodent in this game I don't think oilers should just let go of is the very late icing call that put Barrie in a very very compromised position. That's a missed or blown call that should be 100% held accountable on. It's one thing to blow a call that costs a goal or something but players safety is suppose to be of the upmost importance. Of all the questionable officiating we see on a nightly basis that tops it for me. Absolutely pathetic.
With kaner sidelined now made some roster moves.
Kinda torn part of me wants to send Holloway down and call up Malone because leaning on the top half the roster a bit more now without Kane and the bottom half the roster will become more hard pressed for minutes even more so if not on a special team. Sending Holloway down let him play 20 minutes a night really get himself going for the next call up.

I don't think sending Holloway down is going to help. He needs the game to slow down for him and having him play the slower AHL game isn't going to do that. He's been there, done that.

Also, if Kane goes to LTIR (I have my doubts) then they'll take the opportunity to being up a full slate of players. Griffith, Janmark, Hamblin and Bourgault are top of the list on merit.

My biggest reason for considering sending Holloway down is putting the focus on the more veteran line up to play with more consistency. Malone I believe is well suited to help with that because he's always just making the simple straightforward play doesn't try to do too much. Is 10 minutes or so a night with guys like Ryan better than 20 minutes a night playing with bourgault? Tough could see both sides of that debate... I'm not at all suggesting for the year just a couple weeks to fine tune the veterans before introducing youth.
