Description

If Backstrom plays past this year, The Caps are in an interesting situation. Could see Orlov and Jensen's contracts reduced by 500K each and Strome's possibly up by about 250K. Would like to see Iorio get some time in the NHL, then give the spot to LuJo if Iorio struggles. Keep Irwin in the minors to be the scratch if Iorio is sent down, and have Malenstyn as the forward call up.

Not sure Iorio will be ready next season but would love it. I would look into resigning Connor Brown as well. I think he could be a great fit and likely cheaper after his injury
